I am having trouble with openening all kinds of MS Office documents on my
Windows 2000 machine.

I just found a log of errors under My Computer--> Manage for Office
applications.
It named ntdll.dll as the crashing module in every crash for the last month.

Is there a way to repair or replace this dll?

thanks.

You could put the Windows 2000 CD back in and boot from it. Then go to the
repair option. From there you can tell it to check the system files. This
will likely replace the NTDLL.DLL. However, this may or may not be the
problem. It could actually be another DLL or program call that is creating
the situation. In other words the DLL's are out of synch. You might try
reapplying the most recent service pack - or applying the most recent service
pack if you haven't done so already.

Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to run a CHKDSK /R on the C-drive. There
may be some corruption on the disk causing the problem. This will require a
reboot to check the drive.
