I need to arrange non-interactive backups. Is there a way to use scripts
with NTBackup and where do I find info on them?? (I want the users to be
able to just click on a desktop icon to start process.)

Along these lines, I want some software to use when we change-out harddisks,
any ideas?

Google is a good start

I checked a few of the articles and found some interesting examples. Without
knowing what type of media you are backing up to it's hard to give specfic
examples. Use the wizard to create a scheduled backup. Go into the
properties of the task it creates and copy the command line to a script is
what I usually start with.

I use Acronis True Image. I've laso use Norton Ghost but prefer TI. Many on
these newsgroups say good things about Bootot NG.

We are using 4mm dds3 DAT tape. Two things we want to happen are that the
program proceeds with the floppy ASR disk write without waiting for an "OK".
And that the tape is ejected at the end.

You'll have to write a script to do it. I don't know if it is possible to
get rid of the prompt for the disk with ASR. Do you need to use ASR every
time or just the first time? You need to figure out rsm unless you just want
to erase the tape before everybackup. The following google search will get
you started. I don't know of any canned script to do what you want. You'll
have to write your own.

Well, if we use the ASR disk every time, then we won't ever be caught by
changes that took place unbeknownst to the main user or were forgotten.

Thanks for the help.

Your welcome. Let us know if you fihure it out. It's a fairly common
question.
