Hi All,
I'm just trying to find out if the /SNAP option of the ntbackup utility is
what I need.
Ntbackup.exe is actually running on a Server 2003 machine (but XP seems to
have same options so asking here) which has volume shadow copy configured
and turned on.
The help for ntbackup says:
Switch: /SNAP:{on | off}
Description: Specifies whether the backup must use a volume shadow copy.
If I use the 'on' option does this mean the backup should be able to get all
open files?
For instance, at the moment, most files under %windir%\system32\config are
not getting backed up! This is all the registry files and I imagine are
fairly important if trying to recover the machine.
Can someone please advise me on this?
Thanks,
