Is it possible to use Ntbackup to restore a corrupted harddisk when it's
installed as a slave on another computer ?

Is this related to your posts on the asus ng?

Might depend on what you mean by corrupt drive and what you are trying to
recover

DL yes, I'm not a pest in newsgroups.
built a nice Asus P5B, trying to reuse the old hd in backup computer.
Pretty sure (not positive) it's the boot sector that somehow got corrupted,
it won't boot anyway. Chkdsk fixed everything it found, and Norton found no
viruses.

Are you trying to recover data from this 'old hd', and is it set up as
slave?
Or are you trying to use an old hd that has an o/s on it, and use that o/s -
ie use the drive as master (C:)

Thanks DL
I can use it as a slave easy enough. I wanted to know if I can restore the
system files (that I backed up) and try to boot from it again.

If you are using it on a different PC (different hardware) as an o/s drive
you would have to do a repair installation on that PC and install the mobo
chipset and other drivers specific for that PC's hw
