NTBACKUP is the worest tool to make a backup

Hi

i have win 2000 domain , i use the ntbackup to take
backups on tapes HP , but i always face a problem , for
example i format the domain and i need to restore some
data from an old backup i have beed created befor
formating the domain , but i used to see a list with the
names of the used tapes befor but because that is a new
windows this liest is deleted so how can i refere to the
tape inside the drive to restore the data from it , if any
body please know the steps of restoring data from forign
tape to tell me please its urgent, thanks for any help

Load the tape, and go thru the restore wizard and it will create a new
catalog.
