NTBackup fails with event ID 8012

The 'Active Directory' returned 'The parameter is
incorrect' from a call to 'BackupRead()'


Report is saying Portions of "\Active Directory" cannot be
read. The backed up data is corrupt or incomplete.

Please help me out.
 
You are backing up AD trough System State and not ba backing up NTDS
directory in %systemroot% ? Boot your server in Directory Services Restore
Mode and do a check on AD database using ntdsutil --> files menu.

I'm seeing the same error when I try to backup my root DC using a
account in the "Backup Operators" group. If I add the account to th
builtin "Administrators" group it works fine.

I've checked the group polices over and over and can't seem to se
any reason why a member of "Backup Operators" shouldn't be able t
backup AD
