NT4 to 2000 direct connection

I've got a WinNT machine connected to a Win2000 machine
with a crossover cable. The 2000 machine cannot view or
access shares on the NT machine.

Anybody have some common solutions for this sort of
connection? Where should I start looking for problems?

It's been a long time since I've worked with NT, and I'm
trying to solve this over the phone.

Solution to common problem is to have SAME username AND password on BOTH
machines.
