Here's a question for anybody who understands the NT4 Emulation reg key:
If I am upgrading my NT4 domain to W2K3 and I want to prevent my 2000/XP
clients from 'locking' into the 1st DC that I upgrade, I am aware that this
NT4 Emulation Reg key will prevent the DC from advertising itself as a W2K3
DC and all clients will believe that this DC is actually an NT4 machine.
If this is the case, then I am wondering how critical is it that my clients
are using the W2K3 DNS at this point?
We all know that clients must be using a DNS server that has the active
directory domain name contained with all the server resource locator records
within (preferrably DNS running on the DC itself), but with the NT4
Emulation Key, I can potentially delay the process of making my clients use
this new DNS until I remove the reg Key, correct?
