Good Day!
I am looking for a guide (help) in moving from a NT Server
domain to a Windows 2000 Server domain on the same
network. Here is a brief description:
1. Currently all users authenticate using NT Server.
2. Have procured and installed Windows 2000 Server on same
network but have not configured it as a domain controller
(yet). But, did have it join the NT Server domain for the
interim. Also, no Active Directory services installed yet.
3. Want to make the Windows2000 Server the primay domain
controller using the same domain name we are currently
using, migrate all files and users over to it, then get
rid of the NT Server box entirely.
4. There are only 15 users/PC's all of which are currently
using Windows NT 4.0 SP6A. This will change later (after
migration) to Windows2000 professional.
Assuming this has been done before. I hesitate
configuring the 2000 Server until I understand all
implications and "known/proven" strategies.
Just need some reliable and proven help/advice here.
Thanks.
