NT On-Access Scanner

I've had XP for 2 weeks and every time I reboot or restart the system I get an error stating that NT On-Access Scanner is having problems and will shut down. I have sent many error reports to Microsoft but haven't seen anything yet. What is NT On-Access Scanner? Can I get rid of it? If so, how?

Sounds like AnyiVirus software (and it is McAfee's). If you click in the send error dialog (after sending the report) somewhere it tells you there if it's a known issue.

Anyway as it's not an MS problem it will have low priority.

And Dell says Nortons rather than PC-Cillian.
