The NT clients are not able to access a particular website's hyperlinks
though they are able to access the website itself.XP clients do not face this
problem. All other websites are accessible just fine from these NT 4.0
devices.Downloaded the Mozzilla browser and tried as well but that particular
website failed again.Have already checked the browser settings of IE vr-6.0
on these machines and they are set correctly.User access permissions do not
seem to be the issue since the other web sites are doing fine.Suspect some
certficate issue or a SMB signing kind of an issue but since I am not an IIS
expert or a web server expert dont know what this could be.Any ideas?Your
suggestions and answers are welcome eagerly. Thanks in Advance.

Hi Tanya,

Check if scripting is enabled on the NT workstations. Also view the source
of the web page and its hyperlinks or enable script debugging and error
messages and see if the links create scripting errors. If so then the most
likely cause is the Java versions. XP IE has a different rendering engine
and so the way they handle hyperlinks may vary.

Regards.

Hi Rob,
Thanks a lot for your help.Actually since yesterday I have some more
information which changed the way things stand.
What's actually happening is some IE settings are not set correctly on these
NT machines probably since the very same users are able to access the website
and logon to it with their respective login ID's and do their work just
fine. But when they log in from their NT boxes they face an issue. They access
the contents of this site via HTTPS verification. So when they get the prompt
for whether they want to install the certificates for the HTTPS access and
click yes they get page cannot be displayed error message. The IE version is
6.0 and the encryption cipher strength is 128 bit.The users have been added
to the content directory and hence that is not an issue. Also user rights is
not an issue since they have been granted the admin rights.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Tanya

Hi Tanya,
I have little experience with HTTPS, so I am only guessing. The standard
reply for 'page cannot be displayed' error message is to do a dns flush
(from the command prompt enter ipconfig /flushdns )
Perhaps also it is wise on a NT4x network to examine your IP settings. ...
Only guessing so no guarantees.
Regards.
