NT 4.0 User Manager to 2000 Active Directory users

I am right now using a NT 4 box as my PDC, I just
purchased a new server running Windows 2000 server. What
is this easist way to get all my users from the NT box
over to my 2000 box.
 
You can create a separate domain with the Windows 2000 computer and use ADMT
to migrate the users and computers across a trust.

The easiest way is to upgrade the NT4 box to Win2000,
making the domain a Win2000 domain IF the NT 4 has
a Pentium, and enough disk space.

If not, the next easiest way is to (temporarily) install a new
machine with NT Server as a BDC in the NT domain --
promote that BDC to PDC and then upgrade it to Win2000.

There is no way to make a Win2000 box a BDC in an NT
domain and the only way to upgrade an NT domain is to upgrade
the PDC.

All other methods are inferior, but your next choices include
ClonePrincipal or ADMT after creating a new Win2000 domain,
but it will never be the "same domain" or precisely the "same
users" as you have now.
 
Its usually less problematic to upgrade then it is to
migrate.
You can upgrade your PDC to Windows 2000 if the hardware
will work. Or you can try to install NT4 on your new
machine as a BDC and the npromote it to PDC then upgrade.
