After upgrading from WinNT Server 4.0 to Win2000 Server,
SP4, the Server is not able to contact the domain - even
though it is the PDC. The My computer, Network
Identification TAB, indicates that the PDC is iin the
process of upgrading and the Acive Directory Installation
Wizard must be run. However, the Configure Your Server
application will not run, it appears to start and then
nothing.

How do I successfully finish the upgrade and run either
the Configure Your Server application or the Active Server
Directory application.

PS: I only have the Continfure Your Server applciation as
an option in Administrative Tools.

What exactly do you mean by this? Was the machine the PDC for the NT
Domain? When you upgraded did you installl DNS on the new Win2000 DC?
Where is the DNS? If it is still on the NT servers, it needs to be
moved to a Win2000 box, which could be the new DC.

There is no PDC in a Windfows 2000 Domain, although there is a role
called PDC Emulator which will be on the newly created DC if it is the
first one in the Domain.

Cheers,

Cliff
