Lately I have been getting a popup message immediately following bootup
claiming in effect, an nsupdate.exe error to of having trouble writing
xxxxxx memory to xxxxx memory location etc. I close the popup window and
then everything appears normal.

What's going on here and is there a way to cure this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

It's a Adult site dialer program. Start/run msconfig, go to the startup tab
and look for an entry for that line to uncheck.

First find out what nsupdate.exe is. Use Start > Search to locate the file.
The location and possibly its properties should provide more clues about
what this is or what it belongs to.

If still no luck, open your browser.
Type www.google.com into the address bar and click Go.
At the google site, search for "nsupdate.exe" You'll find that in general
this is a tool for *nix operating systems - not Windows. Apparently it can
be used in Windows for various reasons.

If you have no idea what this thing is or why it's running on your system,
disable it from startup. Start> Run> MSCONFIG. Also check your system with
an up to date antivirus program.
