I recently run a Norton virus detection and it found 5
files infected, among them was socketdrv.dll and
nstask32.exe. It asked me if it's OK to remove those and I
said yes. The sockdrv.dll I have recovered from the XP
disk that came with the machine, but I am having trouble
locating nstask32.exe.

Does anybody know where I can find a replacement copy for
my XP system?

Thanks, Abtin

Nstask32.exe isn't a Windows file, and you don't want it back. It's a
malicious file created by the "W32.Randex.E" worm . Details here:

Are you sure that sockdrv.dll is a Windows file? I don't see it on my
Windows XP computers. According to that web page, the worm creates a
file called "win32sockdrv.dll".
