I've been to many forums and searched for the above, which shows up in the
system32 folder and in the registry HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE, and no one
can inform me what this is and/or what is it related to. It, at times, shows
up in Msconfig. I've run KAV and CounterSpy scans and they do not pick up any
adversity. I've posted this in HijackThis forums, but with no responses.

Hi Bruce,
Try to rename it to something else like:
npwngqs.exe.old Reboot your machine then try out all your application and
see which one will complain of its absent!.
It is likely some add-ons or search hooks installed on your browser?.
Go through these cleaning steps and see if any improvement:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced.
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.
How to manage Add-Ons:
