How much ram can you have on the A7v8x if you use PC3200 ram?

The 32bit address range limit of 2 Gigabytes :)

Would have to check the manual, but it is probably capable of 2X 1Gig or
1X 1Gig and 2X 512M DDR modules. IMHO go for two PC3200 1G Corsair modules.

There is no such thing, at this date of the world’s history, in America,
as an independent press. You know it and I know it… The business of the
Journalist is to destroy truth; To lie outright; To pervert; To vilify;
To fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for
his daily bread. You know it and I know it and what folly is this
toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals for rich men
behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and
we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and or lives are all the
property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes.

Hi, from the manual: 2.5.1 Overview The motherboard comes with three Double
Data Rate (DDR) Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets. These sockets
support up to 3GB system memory using 184-pin unbuffered non-ECC
PC3200/PC2700/2100/1600 DIMMS. (Note: DDR400 supports one (1) socket only.
DDR333 supports two (2) sockets only).
From what I understand from this is that the board will support up to 3GB's
of memory but you can use only one DDR3200.....

The A7V8X is limited to 1 module of PC3200 RAM. If you want 1GB, you'll
have to use a single 1GB chip. You can use 2 modules of PC2700 RAM. I
run 2 Kingston 512MB PC2700 chips.

Since you took the time to post the link, maybe you should have taken
the time to READ it as well. To quote the manual:

"The motherboard comes with three Double Data Rate (DDR) Dual Inline
Memory Module (DIMM) sockets. These sockets support up to 3GB system
memory using 184-pin unbuffered non-ECC PC3200/PC2700/2100/1600 DIMMs.

ASUS A7v8X manual, section 2.5.1

So...like I said before, if you're going to use PC3200 (DDR400) you're
limited to one socket, so plan accordingly.

Hi David, was I criticising what you said? No, I was just pointing out that
the max memory is 3gb's, as the manual quite clearly says.....
