Hello All,

I am not able install novell client 4.9 on two of my
window 2000 professional computers. the error message
is "The installation was not completed successfully". Any
ideas why this installation is not being done.

ok, start out easy here
what service pack of windows 2000? sp4? all the latest updates?
are you trying nwclient 4.9sp1a (http://download.novell.com) & are you doing
a manual install, and not doing the default but doing advanced?

clean out your network settings completely, even uninstall msnetworking &
the network card itself, reboot, install the nic drivers again, install
nwclient49sp1a.

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to let you know there is a site that may be of some use. A
lot of people who work with Novell products, and are VERY good with
implementations and troubleshooting, frequent the site. You can find it at:
http://www.abend.org

Go into the Control Panel/Network/Services tab and add
the Novell Client using the Add button. From the Network
Services list, choose "Novell Client for Windows 2000"
and click OK, or press the Have Disk button then supply
the path to the SETUPNW.EXE file, and click OK.

If this does not work, you will have to reinstall the os
on the workstation due to corrupt registry. Either that
or you could just wait and hope someone will give you a
better answer. Hope this helps.

Ckc1,

Are these by chance "ghosted" PC's? we have had problems
getting the client to install on "ghosted" computers. A
standard OS install works well.
