In some parts of the country, Novatech is setting up PC Build Workshops, for those who are interested in learning to build their own rig.

My nearest store, will be running workshops on Monday nights between 11th March - 21st April, from 18:30 to 20:00 pm (but times/dates will probably be different for other areas of the country... and may not be available in ALL stores.)

I'm not going to post this as a link, for obvious reasons, but for anyone who is interested to know if workshops are planned in your area, mail them at:

This sounds like a great idea for folk who would like to have a go, but lack the confidence (or knowledge) to get started. :thumb:

What a great idea - provide some free info to people wanting to build their own PC and build up a customer base at the same time. :thumb:

Hats off to them!

I'm not absolutely certain if it is "free" Ian... there is no mention about cost in the mailing I received, but digging around on the Net, I found a "Tweet" from a Novatech person, who mentioned £30 for the course. (Would really need to check that.) But still pretty good value for what amounts to being a 6-hour course.

And of course all depending where they are held.

I wouldn't want to do a 30mile round trip and pay out for the course as well. Would end up quite expensive with the cost of petrol on top

Whoops :o. Still, £30 is very good value for 6 hours :thumb:.

Good idea, well done Novatech for coming up with the idea.

if a "customer" wants a PC they should be given the option to build it themselves, at no charge & under supervision :D

don't the new driving test involve some knowledge of the car before a pass ... should be the same for PC users

I have used their Reading store (about 1 1/2 hour journey using M25)twice and found their staff friendly and knowledgeable and would have no qualms about using them and well worth the trip. It is a shame they do not have stores all over the country, and have uset the online store many times now:bow:
