Hi everyone,

anyone knows if there's a way to be notified when someone replies to
your posts, other than manually checking every single newsgroup where
you posted something, or launching a search with my topic? I mean can I
be email notified even if the answer to my posts was only sent to the
newsgroup? Windows Mail gives the opportunity to have only answers to
your posts appear in the list, but thunderbird does not. So how can I
just be notified, like in forums?
thanks.

Mark them as watched
and also View | All Headers from the message window. Followup-To:
Request replies to be e-mailed to the author.

Publicizing one's email address in a Usenet post is a sure way to
get that address on a lot of spamming lists.

ups I just realized that you're talking from Windows Mail, which is
actually the topic of this newsgroup. My fault: I was just wondering
what I could do in Thunderbird...doesn't matter. Thanks anyway.

so no way to be automatically notified like in Forums, without having
your actual email address appear in the newsgroup. OK, thanks.

The OP asked how, it's an option to choose. What they do with it is up to
them.

Totally agree. But it needs to be an informed choice, so it's up to us
to disclose both the pros and the cons.
