Every so often I catch a little window whizzing accross
my screen (vertically, bottom to top) going much too fast
to read. It never stops so I can't see what it is.
This time I managed to catch a screenshot.
The window title is "Spyware Definitions Updated".
The text is:
"New Spyware Definitions are Available!"
"New Microsoft AntiSpyware definitions are available for " ...(rest
truncated)
"Would you like to update spyware definitions now?" [Yes/No buttons]
[Checkbox] "Automatically keep me updated"
Question: Is it a legit Microsoft notification? If so, is this a known bug?
p.s. I use XP SP2.
My AntiSpyware AutoUpdater Settings are:
[YES] Enable automatic updates
[NO ] Apply new spyware updates without notifying me
[YES] Notify me when updates, (...etc...) are available
Two possibly relevant quirks:
1) I keep my taskbar vertical and on right side of screen.
2) My system tray (notification area) may have become broken.
It shows most icons, but e.g. no longer shows the connection icon
when I'm connected, even tho it's configured to show it.
