notification not working

Does anyone know of any conflicts or configurations I am
missing. The problem even when I select "Display a
notification when messages arrive" it does not work. I
am use to getting notified when something new is in my
mailbox... I though it may have to do with something not
configured right... or having MSN on the same computer...
but I don't know how to get OUTLOOK to do it right...I
have Windows XP Pro and Office XP Pro and also use MSN
8... with Verizon DSL

Please help...

Since you are using WinXP it could be that your notifcation is hidden.
Rightclick on an empty place on your taskbar and choose Customize
Notifications... Select your mail icon and set it's value to always show.
Send yourself a message to find out whether this worked.
