notification messages for new email

I have both Windows Messenger and Yahoo Messenger.

I get email message notifications that automatically appear in the lower
right corner of the screen while i'm logged into Yahoo messenger.

Does Windows Messenger have this function?

The current version of Windows Messenger doesn't (I admit, older versions of it did, but it
was removed).

However, Windows Live Messenger (the -real- current version of Messenger) does have this
capability, as does all versions of MSN Messenger.
