Read below the note - Often applies to Windows Explorer, My Computer and Internet Explorer as all supports Browser Helper Objects.

When you click the Internet Explorer icon, window may flash a second and quits. Or, it may show an Error-Reporting dialog. This may be due to a malware Browser Helper Object which causes Internet Explorer process to terminate. If you see the Error-Reporting dialog, click "to see what data this report contains" and identify the Module Name causing this error. In most cases, it may be the spyware DLL. Therefore, reinstalling Internet Explorer [in case of a spyware DLL] may not help.
To test with: Disable third-party browser extensions in Internet
Explorer
1. Click Start, Run, and type inetcpl.cpl. [or control inetcpl.cpl]
2. Click the Advanced tab.
3. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions
(requires restart) check box.
4. Restart Internet Explorer.

When trying to open my computer,IE,control panel or any
other windows based program I get an explorer error. I
have run a full virus scan but no luck. I can't access
the Internet to run a scan from symantecs site. It sounds
like a virus to me but don't know which one, I scanned
with the mydoom fix but no luck. Anyone have any ideas or
is this a windows problem.
