I have recently starting having issues when trying to open
a hyperlink from any other application other than IE, I
have reinstalled the operating system, I have installed
SP3, I have made all necessary .dll registers and registry
edits as per Microsoft Article Q281679. Still does not
work, any ideas?

If you haven't tried this step:

Control Panel \ tools \ internet options \ programs. Check "internet
explorer should check to see whether it is the default".

Apply\okay your way out. Close out IE. When you start it again, you
should be asked for permission to make IE the default browser. (After
that, uncheck the question since it will be asked every time
otherwise.)

You might also check in your email program and elsewhere with
independent designations to be sure that IE is still listed to open
hyperlinks.

Exactly what happens when you click a link?

Maureen,

Thank you! This seemed to remedy the situation. Something
so small, what a pain......:-)

IE Help>About>Update Versions> If Q818529 isn't listed here, get it via
Windows Update. It's the June '03 Cumulative Patch for IE.

Glad I could help. Thought the link-clicking aspect might be something
simple.
