notes pages issue

in my notes pages the placeholder text box is set with no
fill and no line (this is specified in my master) but when
someone else opens it the notes pages are filled with
white and have a black line around the box.

any ideas?

both people are on microsoft ppt 2002.

Their notes master is exactly the same as mine.
