NotepadX - Manage Your Notes With Power!
NotepadX is a powerful program which allows you to keep your notes in
hierarchical categories. It lets you do formating, put pictures, and
even create notes which would look like Worksheet or a tree. Unlike
simple Notepad, you can create categories to store your notes. Every
note is represented by an entry in navigation bar on the left. You can
more notes or remove any existing ones under any notes that you already
have.

opinions ? just downloaded it - works like a charm; only thing treepad
has over this that i can see is that treepad can run from a jump drive
or floppy disc.

TY, Susan ...

Is there a "Treepad' which allows RTF [images and URLS] ?

If I may jump in here. . . No, the freeware version doesn't allow images
though it does allow for URLs and hyperlinks. The shareware version -- that
I regretably paid for - will but I use it very reluctantly as the RTF editor
is very buggy.

However, it's possible to "mate" the freeware Treepad with Irfanview, if you
are looking to attach images to your article. Simply convert your images to
one of the more obscure image formats, associate this format with Irfanview
exclusively then put a link to that image in your Treepad article.

If you don't want to go the association route, you could create simple batch
files that direct Irfanview to open up an image file, then place a link to
that batch file in your Treepad article. The advantage here is that you
could take advantage of Irfanview's command line options at the same time.

It's a simple alternative to HTML files. . .

Yup. Keynote is Pricelessware and a great program. :)

KeyNote
(Freeware) (open source: MPL 1.1)
Windows OS: Windows 95/98/NT
Languages: English
Description: Keynote is a flexible, multi-featured tabbed notebook,
based on Windows standard RichEdit control. With its (optional) trayicon
feature, it can be accessible with a single keypress. You can include
many separate notes within a single Keynote file. This means that you
can create only one file and hold all your notes inside it and make it a
three- dimensional notebook: many notes within one file and a
multi-level, nested pages within a single note. Optionally, KeyNote can
encrypt your data securely using the Blowfish or Idea algorithms.
Keynote's interface and behavior are extremely configurable (e.g., full
hotkeys support, customizable toolbars buttons). The feature of "virtual
nodes" allow linking of a tree node to a file in the drive. Importing
and exporting notes from richedit format and text formats are supported.
The program also supports per-file configuration settings, multiple
backups and WordWeb dictionary integration. More features are included
such as styles, macros, plugins, and templates. It can be used as a
NOTES keeper, a diary, an outliner, a knowledge base and other different
types of information managers as the user prefers.

Susan, a different subject.

Several weeks ago, I posted about the PW 2005 CD files being php extension. (BTW,
I can change them to htm and read with my browser)

You responded then that there was an index.htm file. What I need is a htm file
that lists all the files on the CD. Don't see it on the CD. Where do I find it?

Thanks

Of course but it's not necessary (and you break the links when you
change the extensions).

There is no such animal. The *information* is on the CD in these files:

Look in the root directory (there are only 8 files). The index file is
named "index.html". It lists and links to all the HTML and text files
including the following files:

In the root directory there is a text file named "ProgramList.txt". That
lists all the *program* files included on the CD (the files in the
"files" folder.

In the 2005 folder there is an HTML file named "2005PL-CD-programs.php"
That shows the program files that are listed on the web pages. (The
"extra goodies" that Steven included are not listed on that page.)

Thanks, it's in the root, missed that there was stuff in the root on the CD. I had
not followed the many threads about the CD in the past. There's a lot of new data
daily on this ng.
