I am at a loss how to open notepad when it comes in the
form of an attachment on e-mail. Can someone please
explain as I was not able to locate in the HELP menu.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Notepad is a program (if that is
what you mean by "notepad"). It is installed on your computer. It would
be very unusual for it to come in as an attachment in email.

Someone may send you an Text File (with a TXT extension). WHen you open
the attachment in email, it should launch Notepad program automatically
and open the TXT file.

If you get a message about not being able to open the file due to
security, it's because you have to enable opening attachments in
Outlook. See Tools/Options, Security Tab, uncheck "Do not allow
attachments..."
