I am trying to download a manual, and the computer said
that it could not open it and to either search the
internet for a program to open it or to choose a program
to open it. well i chose to use the notepad and it
didn't work and now anytime i try to donload the manual
it goes straight to the notepad. How can i fix this to
where i can open it with the internet?

Right click on the manual>Select properties>Change the open
with option>apply.

Hi,

First option is to shift-rightclick on the manual file and select Open
With... to choose another prorgam. You may also check 'Always use the
selected program...' option.

Another option: From Windows Explorer, select menu Tools | Folder Options...
Click File Types tab and select the file extension of the downloaded manual
from the 'Registered file types' list. Then click Delete button and confirm
the delete operation.
From now on, you will be prompted to select a program or search the Web
service to open.

HTH.

while holding down the shift key on the keyboard, right
click on the file and select "open with" then select
another program. there is a check box at the bottom of
that window that says to always use that program for
opening that type of file. use this at your discretion
when you find a program that works for this type of
file. you probably want to use adobe acrobat reader for
this file since it is some kind of a manual. adobe reads
*.pdf files along with others. adobe can be downloaded
for free on the web.
good luck
