notepad not working

Hi all just wondering if anyone could help me with the
problem i am having with notepad. The problem is that when
I try to open a document with notepad it comes up saying
that it cannot find the notepaad.exe file. Could someone
tell m how to fix this problem

David is the double "a" in your question a typo or does the error actually
say "notepaad.exe"?

Sounds like the program got corrupted. You should try reinstalling it by using your XP CD. You would just go through all the motions of basically during an install, but, you want to make sure that you do repair.
 
Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll down to
Item No. 326 (left column) and click on "Restore Notepad.exe".

Command Creator was never mentioned. Click on the LEFT side link on
line 326. The suggestion said:

... to Item No. 326 (left column) and click on "Restore
Notepad.exe".

click on *Restore Notepad.exe*

Command Creator was never mentioned.

All the link does is provide you with notepad.zip which contain an valid
copy of notepad.exe (that you use to overwrite the corrupted copies that
you have, or put a copy where it belongs, like %windir% and
%windir%\system32).
