notebook lockup

I have a Gateway 600ygr P4 with an ATI Radeon 7500 AGP
video adapter. Upon resuming from standby, it locks up
shortly after starting. it is intermitinet and seems to
happen mostly after swithing from battery to A/C. but not
all the time. any sugestions.

I would check with Gateway T. Support if it is still
under warranty
