NOTE or POST?

I created a new folder into which (using rules) I direct mail from certain
senders, however the mail doesn't arrive in the form of a message, but as an
envelope icon which I have to double click to see the message. The only
difference I can see when I look at the properties for the new folder and
others that work fine is that the "When Posting to this folder use......"
option is POST for the folders that are OK and NOTE for the new folder -
changing it to POST is not an option.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Once you defined this destination folder, that's the type of folder it
remains. If you want to move e-mail into an e-mail-type (Post) folder
then you have to define that folder as an e-mail-type (Post) folder when
you created it. Do the following (the folder names are just examples,
and you didn't mention what was the name of the folder you were moving
into using rules so I'll call it OldFolder):

- Create a new folder PostStuff and make sure you define it as a "Mail
and Post Items" type of folder.
- Move your e-mails from OldFolder to PostStuff.
- Delete your OldFolder.
- Rename PostStuff to OldFolder (so your rules still work as is).
