Note file names

I have a bunch of NOTES in Outlook 2003. It always uses the first line of
the note as the title of the note. Is each note a separate file and, if so,
is each note saved using the title of each note?

The reason I'm asking is that I synch my iPod with the notes and it always
named them the same as what shows in Outlook. But, I've added a few new
notes that are LONG and they come across in my iPod using a numeric file name
(with a negative sign prefacing it) and then show multiple pages. How come
it's not naming the note the title (first line) of the note?

Thank you.

Where did you add the long notes, in Outlook or on the iPod?

I added more notes to Outlook. They were long because they were recipes.
Some of the other notes (i.e. RECIPES-DRINKS, etc) were not that long and I
think that's why they synched fine. They came over using the name
RECIPES-DRINKS. But, the new notes that have multiple pages to them
(according to my older ipod) named them with numeric names.
