I have a question, I've created a OU and decide to test out my new policies
only letting certain site. I've pretty much enter in a proxy address of
0.0.0.0 and only allow *.microsoft.com to come through ( done through User
Configuration) and I have a user in the as well as the computer. But for
some odd reason it allow any sites through. Can anyone recommend to me what
I can use to check to see if the policy is actually working? I have check
the policy and under the security tab and made sure that Authenicated Users
has Read and Apply Group Policy to it. Also I have block inheritance check
off as well as the link option of No Override and disabled check off. What
am I doing wrong. Thanks!

Go to the bottom of Group Policy and right click on Group Policy Results and
run the Group Policy Results wizard. This will walk you through on choosing
a specific user and a specific user and when complete it will show you the
exact group policy settings this user has after logging in.

Hi,

Group policy isn’t where you restrict Internet Access. It wasn’t
designed to do that and that is why they have ISA server. You can set
a phony Proxy server so IE can have no access but this doesn’t affect
Mozilla or any other browser that is easily run off even a CD (Mozilla
doesn’t need any write access or install and can run just from a
burned CD)

Cheers,

Lara
