not showing number of emails

I cannot see how many new emails I have in my inbox. I used to when I had
Win Messenger on Windows 2000, but since I've gotten Win XP, it does not show
any kind of status of my emails. How can I get it to show that? thanks

Windows Messenger no longer displays this info (with one notable exception, but it's not
worth all the hassle). Instead, you'll need to use MSN Messenger instead:
