I have a two computer home network - one using XP through
which I have a broadband connection and the other using
windows 2000 through a router. I have managed to get the
internet to both machines but am unable to see each
computer for file sharing in Network etc.
Any Ideas

One solution I know would work is enabling the protocol
NetBEUI. This should be the last resort though.

I am having the same problem, though my network has over 30 systems, I have recently added 2 computers to the network which are NOT seeing the entire network as the rest on the network are. (Even computers connected to the same hub are fine!) I have NetBEUI installed along side of TCP/IP and basically settings are exact as the one I am typing to you on now..

I have been dealing with this for 2 days now.. any ideas??

Make sure they are members of the same domain or
workgroup.. If so, next apply static addresses to all the
machines. then "flushdns" and "registerdns" and see if
problem is solved...Can also if are using DHCP to assign
addresses in your network, run ipconfig and see if all
are using the same network and subnet. If not, flushdns
and registerdns .... then run ipconfig again and make
sure not using apipa addresses....
