Hello CHAPS.

I am trying to finally save my movie as a movie file. Sure enough, it won't
work. I have checked and NOTHING is really wrong. I have enough file space
on my desktop, where I am saving it. All of the clips have not been moved.
I didn't do ANYTHING wrong, but I still get a hard time. Why am I not
suprised, this is WMM of course. Not like I can expect anything NEAR
proffesionalism.

Does anyone know what the problem is?! I can upload my WMM file if you
want.

Papajohn has collected many solutions and peoples comments on his website
related to this situation. Generally it is either:
* your hard disk gone badly fragmented
* you have a conflicting codec
* your project is overly complicated with many short clips, effects and/or
transitions.

www.papajohn.org > Problem Solving > Cant save the movie

* or you have one/some unsupported filetypes in your project.
But what the problem isn't, contrary to the opinion's of people that can't
accept that they are doing something wrong, is Microsoft's or Movie Makers
fault.

Complete and total rubbish
* you have a conflicting codec

Conflicting with what exactly???? The OP may have a codec that Movie Maker
does not support, and their are plenty of them, but
CONFLICTING?????Absolute Rubbish
* your project is overly complicated with many short clips, effects and/or
transitions.

Take a look at the FAQ I post in here called crashes and hangs, in
particular the section about File Types. If that section does not help
consider following the advice/instructions in re-installing DirectX, the
Codec Pack and possibly SP2....It is important that you do it exactly as
described.

If none of that works you could download the latest version of Rename
Codecs from my website. Its fairly obvious on how it works. Remember to use
the restore option after finishing with Movie Maker
