Not recognizing floppy

My floppy disk shows up in my computer...but it says
insert disk even when there is one in. I cant even format
a disk. I tried troubleshooting, but it says the device
is working properly. Any other drivers I can find? I
tried everything in CMOS but I get nothing, what to do???

Hi, I think I have this similar problem with yours.
Previously, my FDD is usable with my system & WinXP Pro,
but presently, it keeps showing this dialog prompt that
this diskette is not formatted and if tries to format, it
will never be able to perform. Wondering what has happen
and if you have the answers, pls do forward a copy by
emailing me okay, Thank you.

Me too, faces this problem, previously there isn't any fault with this drive
at all, formatting or copying etc are all in order, but not recently, I
wondered what is causing this and anybody has been able to resolve this
format stuff that is mentioned as above? Thanks

Check for stickey eject buttons....
