Whenever I try to open my 3.5 floppy or CD / DVD drives in
windows explorer (with disks in them or not) I get the
following message 'The Disk in Drive <XX> is not
formatted. Would you like to format it now?'.
Similarly when I try to open a drive at the command prompt
I get the following (in the attempt below I was trying to
open the 3.5 floppy drive without a disk in it, same
result with a disk in it):
C:\>a:
The volume does not contain a recognized file system.
Please make sure that all required file system drivers are
loaded and that the volume is not corrupted.
C:\>
This problem is rectified when I boot in Safe Mode.
What should I do?
