Do the messages appear in your mailbox before Outlook tries to download
them; i.e., can you use a web interface to examine the mailbox on the server
to see if they are there but Outlook isn't downloading them? If they're not
on the server, clearly it either that the sender address you're using is
invalid (and they'd get a bounce) or the problem is on their end or on a
mail router between you and them. In the first case, fix the mail address.
In the other cases, it's not Outlook's problem. Did you check to see if
your mail server has a filter that is discarding or refiling the messages
before Outlook gets a chance to see them?
Brian -- If I go to my MSN mainpage and then select Hotmail or go to
Homtail.com dirtectly, I still do not see any emails from people with
yahoo.com addresses. Is this what you mean by using a web interface?
I know that the sender addresses are good...I have sent to seven people with
yahoo.com email addresses. All have gotten my messages with no problems. All
have replied or created new emails to my Hotmail account. None of their
emails have gotten through. None have gotten rejection notices from Hotmail.
Some of these people live in different states. So I guess that leaves a mail
router close to home. My highspeed internet connection is thru Comcast. Could
it be a problem with their server?
I find it difficult that MSFT owns Hotmail (correct?) but offers no direct
support.
I appreciate your suggestions, but I don't yet see a solution.
