In coming Windows Mail

I seem to be able to send out my mail ok from Windows mail but am not
receiving any incoming mail any suggestions please?
 
The primary suggestion would be for you to post a bunch of additional detail
on such things as your ISP/E-mail provider, what error messages you may get
(please post them in their entirety), whether or not you running an
AntiVirus application setup to scan email and, if you are, whose, and any
other details that may come to mind - every little bit helps.

What happens when you send an email to yourself?
If it does not arrive in your Windows Mail inbox, is it available in your
provider's webmail?

I have not been able to link my email to hotmail. I tried doing several
things but still it won't link. It told me to down load windows live mail
and this didn't work off line-it said it would...I am disapointed in
Vista....spending too much time trying to get simple things to work. How do
I do it? Any help?

i HAVE NOT RECEIVED MAIL SINCE THE 19TH OD DEC. i WOULD LIKE HELP IN
RESTORING IT. A DETWILER

Do you get an error message when you try to receive? If so, right-click on
your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Is the missing incoming mail available via webmail?
Can you send email?

We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.
 
I am not surprised you are having problems with Windows Mail.
Norton antivirus is among the top three troublemakers for
Windows Mail. Symptoms often don't surface until several months
have gone by, or until an update occurs.
First, be sure to disable its email scanning, for the reason explained here:

In a worst case scenario, you may have to uninstall Norton, followed by
using their debris removal tool:

Instead of uninstalling your antivirus, another option is to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail, which is more resistant to the adverse effects of overly
intrusive antivirus products: http://download.live.com/wlmail

Go to Tools, Accounts, select that mail account, Properties, Servers.
Make sure that "Log on using Secure Password Authentication" is not enabled.
