not receiving emails

I have not received emails that people have told me that have sent.

The first one was a couple of weeks ago but i didn't think anything of that.
Last night i was expecting one and today i've ordered shopping on line and
not received the confirmation email and my mum has sent me one!

Please help

Do you check the Junk Mail folder?
