My old cartridge ran out so instead of buying a genuine Lexmark
cartridge I bought a third party one. My problem is it's new buy
doesn't print. I have tried to wick the cartridge like the Lexmark
website says but after half a page it stops printing. Anyone got any
ideas?

Our questions do not appear to be on anyones "current agenda".

Suggestion - Make a NEW POST with the Subject: "Lexmark (model number): not
printing on full cartridge."

We will proably both be informed that it is the 'third party cartridge' when
I know for a fact that it- IS NOT.

Mine is a HP Deskjet 940c. I installed a Staples Remanufactured Cartridge
on saturday. It printed until yesterday. Now it will not print any black
text ( MS Works 7.0, Wordpad, Notepad or from a website.) I ran all the
three (3) cleaning cycles, removed the cartridge and soaked it briefly in
distilled water, downloaded and re-installed the driver from the HP Website
and the only thing it will print . . . in black text . . . is the word
"invent" which is under HP on the 'print sample page'.

On the *Align the Print Cartridges* Page; there should be -- four (4)
lines --: it prints one (1), two (2) and four (4), skipping line three(3),
therefore I CANNOT align the print cartridges.

And you know for sure that the fault does not lie with the cartridge
how? Have you tested the cartridge on another printer? Have you
cleaned the contacts on the cartridge and on the carrier?

I just printed the above coupon from Staples: Coupon Code and the 16 digits
did NOT print. The 2 lines of text above the bar code did NOT print. The 11
lines of text following the bar code did NOT print - HOWEVER - "that was
easy'' (black text) below the Staples Logo DID print as well as the broken
lines (black) outlining the coupon., therefore there is a PROBLEM . .
..elsewhere.

I suspect your cartridge *is* the problem. Run a diagnostic self test page as
shown at the following:

I believe you will find some group of nozzles missing. If you try the same
cartridge in another printer you will likely find the problem moves with the
cartridge.
