When I view my graph (report) in design view the data shown on the graph and
in the datasheet in not my data and appears to be from the defalt chartwizard
database. How can I view my data so I can manipulate it? I've tried viewing
it in print preview and it shows my graph but when I go back to design view
its still the wrong date?

Help

Thank you

That's the way it happens. In form design mode, you get to set what your
graph will look like (chart type, axis scale and format, etc), not what its
data is. Since it displays the data correctly when you preview the report,
you've obviously got the graph's row source set correctly (in the Data tab
for the chart contorl's properties). To "manipulate" the data, change it
(via any suitable means), in the table that is the graph's row source, or in
the table(s) that are in the query if the row source is a query.

If you unbind the graph from any recordsource, then you can edit data in the
graph's datasheet, and that will show in design view. But then it won't
show data in your database; it will only show data that you enter by hand
into the datasheet in design mode - and that seems rather pointless.

Always design charts in a Form rather than a Report. The difference is that
in a Report you can only double-click the chart to bring up the chart tools
while in design mode when live data is not available. Access then
substitutes the sample data. In a form you can double-click to enter the
chart design tools from both design view and from normal view and when you
do so from normal view you see your data, not the sample data.

Once you have the chart looking the way you want it then copy and paste it
into the Report. You will also find that now when you go into the chart
designer from within the Report that it will show a snapshot of *your* data
from the last time you worked on the chart in your Form.
