I have a PC running WIndows ME, and IE6 SP1 6.0.28001106. It will not
display websites from the internet or intranet. It had a lot of spyware on
it, which have been removed with Adaware, Spybot and CWshredder. All with
updates to the 5 Dec.
When you go to http://www.dlink.com (or any other URL) it thinks for 2
seconds, then displays the standard DNS error page. (shdoclc.dll
/dnerror.html). I thought perhaps DNS had failed, so I tried to ping
www.dlink.com, and I get a reply, so that tells me IP is enabled and working,
and also DNS is also working.
I have also loaded Opera, Firefox and Mozilla, and they all fail as well.
If you put in a CD that has web pages on it, it will display them and you can
navigate between the pages.
I tried a different Network card, no change.
