XP Pro on Win2k SBS network, I have one user whose PC will
not load her local profile. The login process maps her
user directory to the correct drive letter, but does not
redirect her My Documents file to it, does not load her
desktop icons, does not load her wallpaper, forgets her
email settings, and (she's left-handed) does not switch
her mouse buttons. I can reset all these things so they
work again, but in a week or so it will lose them. This is
only happening to one user (about 20 on the entire net,
single domain). It happened off and on for her for some
time, but a power off/power on solved it... now for the
past couple of weeks it just won't come back. Any ideas
where it might have gone?

I am assuming you are using roaming profiles, correct? It sounds like she is logging on with a computer that has her profile set as a local profile, thus every time she logs off that computer her profile is changed from your settings... Does she log on from home or some other slow connection

Actually I am not using roaming profiles. In looking a
little deeper her PC has two different folders in the
Documents and Settings folder... one labelled <username>
and one labelled <username>.<domain>

As far as I can tell she hasn't changed the way she's
logging in (she logs into the domain), and the
<username>.<domain> folder has yesterday's date on it. All
her old settings are in the <username> folder, but I can't
seem to login to it.

I set her up so the "new" profile has all the old
settings, and also merged her Outlook PST files, so she's
happy... but I'm scratching my head trying to figure it
out. Any ideas?

BTW, I checked a few other users, and all of them just
