I think it's good! Having something be backwards compatible forever is what
causes many computer problems.
Look at what Apple did a couple of years ago. A brand new operating
system, without all the crud of previous years. Everyone had to replace
all their applications as NOTHING that previously existed would work with
the new O/S. Now, I don't use a Mac computer but those who do say the new
O/S is splendid!
Maybe it's time for Microsoft to do the same. They try to maintain
backward compatibility for all the cry babies.
Hell, there is no reason why anyone should expect a 10 year old program to
work with the latest iteration of the operating system!
