Not getting a name displayed in to field

When I try to forward an email and use the look up for
the to, cc or bcc fields, when I click on the name I want
and then click on the particular button (to, cc, bcc) no
name is displayed. All I see is a . or ;

When I confirm that and go back to message I am
forwarding and do a right mouse button click on the to
field and then click on propertities, there is the person
I am forwarding to even though I can not see them.

What do I need to do to get this to work properly. I am
running XP Home. Students Office XP Standard and I do
have SP2 update installed.

Yes, I imported these contacts from ACT 2000

Then you didn't map the fields correctly.
Take a look at this MS KB article, it may help:

You were exactly right. It turns out that I had to map a
file in ACT titled email system to Outlook and I did not
do that. It is fixed and working!
