Hi,

Windows XP Home on Dell machine 40Gig hd w/60% free; 128mb
ram.

Quick back ground on this issue: a friend was running
yahoo messenger tried to talk to someone and a JavaScript
error displayed saying "Error 53: Not enough storage to
complete this operation", then some specific yahoo
messenger errors displayed, "YMSGR" not defined etc..
Figured was IE settings, reset all privacy/security to all
zones:Medium. Same issue. Brought up IE 6.02 w/sp1 and
other fixes. Selected Help->About IE and pow same error!!

All research i've done points to registry size under
winNT/2000 environments. Is there a way to set the
registry size under XP Home?

Also another strange item, the only web page they can't
get too is windowsupdate.microsoft.com. I'm wondering if
there is a pest/adware or virus.

Thanks in advanced. Please respond to (e-mail address removed)

Paul

Hi Paul,

Just to be sure it is not malware:

Download, install and update the
spyware removers from the links below. Run both of them.

Spybot S&D

Good luck

A long long time ago this was a common error, at least for the
software mix we were using. Reapplying the service
pack always fixed it. There was version scew and incompatible
calls between dlls. I know this isn't supposed to happen anymore.

reapply the SP. It can't hurt.
