The computer giving the problem is a portable computer Fujitsu-siemens amili
li 1818. It was preinstalled with vista but I downgraded it with a Windows XP
pro. That installation has been fully updated with the latest patch. No other
software has yet been installed except for the device drivers i downloaded
from the Fujitsu-Siemens website. I also de-activated the Windows XP firewall
and unchecked the simple file sharing option in the folder tab. I furthermore
unchecked the IEEEE... option in the network configuration tab and the QOS
service. File and printer sharing is installed, but i try to access another
computer from this one. That manipulation gives the afor mentioned error.
However if i try to access a shared drive from this machine from another one
I get a permission error even if i activated the guest user and even if i
enter on the other machine the correct user and password for the connection
of the shared folder. On the shared folder itself, full access is granted. I
think i described all the details i noticed and attempts i tried to solve
this problem, but for now to no avail.

Thx for the information but i already had taken the lastest drivers for XP at
Fujitsu-siemens, namely for the realtek RTL810xx.
Following your suggestion i furthermore took the latest drivers from realtek
website itself and tried again, but no go. It doesn't change a thing. The
problem is still present
Any more idea's, because i'm out of mine.
Kind regards,
Henri
Henri,
Which computer did you tweak? Did you _religiously_ spell the registry key
correctly?
